About this Event
The Bill Charlap Trio is Grammy-winning pianist Bill Charlap, bassist Peter Washington, and percussionist Kenny Washington. The Trio earned Grammy nominations for 2017’s Uptown Downtown (Impulse!/Verve) and Somewhere: The Songs of Leonard Bernstein and The Bill Charlap Trio: Live At the Village Vanguard (both on the Blue Note label). TThe trio’s most recent recording features them supporting Tony Bennett & Diana Krall on the chart-topping, Grammy-nominated "Love is Here to Stay". The Bill Charlap Trio Tours all over the world, and their New York engagements include regular appearances at Jazz at Lincoln Center and the Village Vanguard.
Doors, Check-In, Seating
- 6 PM - Doors/seating open promptly for registered ticket holders. Please have your printed or digital QR code ready to scan at the door. Seating is unassigned.
- 6:30 PM - Doors/seating opens for any waitlisted individuals or walk-ins (who can be registered at the door). Seating is unassigned.
- 7 PM - Performance starts.
Waitlist & Walk-ins Policies
Once ticket registration fills up, all others will be subject to join a waitlist. MBAW will check in with ticket holders multiple times leading up to the concert if they are still coming. Any cancellations will open ticket registration to those on the waitlist.
Because it is a free event, MBAW will open seating to anyone still on the waitlist (and any walk-ins) at 6:30 PM, 30 minutes before the performance. Seating is unassigned.
Location & Parking
The concert will be in the Jo Long Theatre at the Carver Community Cultural Center.
Free Parking is available in Carver Administration, Carver Academy and St. Paul parking lots. Parking also available along Center Street and Gibbs Street by the Freidrich building.

Program Books & Artist Signings
MBAW's 25th Anniversary Season books with in-depth festival programs will be available for sale at each UNITYFest event for $20 (tax-free - cash, card, checks accepted) or for preorder online here for pickup at the event (provide name on order).
Performing artists will be available to sign after the concert.
