Jazz LIVE at Marine View featuring the Calysta Cheyenne Band

With her warm and dynamic voice Calysta Cheyenne (www.calystajazz.com) has been singing the Great American Songbook and other jazz standards in Oregon since 2005. She grew up listening to and is heavily influenced by Ella Fitzgerald, Julie London, Peggy Lee and Billie Holiday. She has practiced Seth Riggs’ Speech Level Singing Technique for nearly 20 years with Ken Orsow in Ashland, OR, attended Berklee College of Music where she studied vocal jazz performance with NYC vocalist Alison Wedding, and recently completed a workshop with award-winning vocalist and educator Alexis Cole. In addition to jazz, Calysta is both vocalist and frontwoman for Oregon-based bands Fortune’s Folly and Sugar Beats and has played up and down both the East and West coasts. Appearing with Calysta at Marine View will be her full band consisting of Paul K. Ward on piano, Robin Fey on guitar, Madison DeSantis on drums and Laurent Nickel on bass.
