Matt Trigge is a Melbourne-based multi-instrumentalist whose music fuses jazz, broken beat, and house into a rich and distinctive sound. With extensive festival experience, including performances at Woodford Folk Festival, the National Folk Festival and the St Kilda Festival, Matt has established himself as a versatile and compelling live performer.
He has worked both as a solo artist and toured nationally with bands such as Headphones Jones and Busted Chops, showcasing his ability to move seamlessly between trumpet, keys, and electronic textures. His performances balance improvisation with groove, creating an immersive atmosphere that resonates across audiences and venues alike.
Matt’s new project showcases his evolution as an artist, weaving together jazz house grooves and broken beat textures into a fresh and forward-looking sound.
Three fixtures of the Canberra music scene, Dylan Slater, Evan Marshalsey, and Gus Henderson have coalesced to form the modern jazz unit, KAT STU.
