Join us Thursday, December 12th from 7 - 11 PM as we welcome back Jazz Futures, a program for top-notch college jazz bands, to the lounge. 🎷🍸 Jazz Futures is an initiative organized by Kansas City Jazz Ambassadors that provides students with the invaluable opportunity to perform in a professional setting at local venues and KCJA donates money from their scholarship fund to the school's jazz education program.
Expect to hear from KC's up-and-coming jazz musicians, many of whom will be playing their first professional gig. The KCK Community College Jazz Band, led by Brent Jackson, will take the stage from 7 - 9 PM. David Basse, accompanied by a band of seasoned musicians, will follow from 9 - 11 PM. KCJA will also be announcing the winners of the 2024 JAM Awards, a people's choice awards event, where jazz fans can nominate and vote for their personal favorite KC jazz musicians.
