Jazz at Richardson - Buffalo Jazz Festival

Buffalo’s summer Sundays are about to get much livelier: JazzBuffalo is thrilled to announce its 2025 Jazz at Richardson series, featuring four free outdoor concerts on the historic Richardson‑Olmsted Campus lawn. From June 29 through August 31, residents and visitors can bring their lawn chairs and picnic blankets to enjoy fantastic jazz music under the summer sky.

Sunday, June 29 • 4–7 pmThe Croft, Wasik, Docenko Trio performs the music of Vince Guaraldi and the beloved Charlie Brown & Peanuts’ Gang songbook. Opening the series with Guaraldi’s warm, lyrical melodies ensures a family‑friendly start to the season, welcoming long‑time Charlie Brown and the Peanuts Gang fans while introducing a new generation of listeners to the magic of live jazz.

Sunday, July 13 • 4–7 pmDoug “Trigger” Gaston leads this spirited quartet—Trigger and the Sermon: Soulful Organ Jazz-winners of the 2024 JazzBuffalo Poll’s Jazz Organ category—bringing soulful organ jazz sounds. Perennial JazzBuffalo Poll winner’ll join them for Jazz Trumpet, Tim Clarke, whose dynamic playing has become a hallmark of Western New York’s jazz landscape. They’ll be joined by longtime Buffalo great, Greg Millar, on guitar and the fabulous Benjamin Clyburn on drums and vocals.

Sunday, August 10 • 4–7 pmRaise the roof with Brass Machine, Buffalo’s purveyors of New Orleans jazz. Expect spirited second‑line brass sounds, swinging parade‑style rhythms, and an authentic taste of New Orleans-style celebration—perfect for a summer of celebration and communal joy.

Sunday, August 31 • 12:30–7:30 pmCap off the season with the 4th Annual Buffalo Jazz Festival, a free, day‑long celebration, during Labor Day weekend, featuring multiple performances by local and regional talent. From noon to early evening, the festival brings together emerging artists and established ensembles that showcase Buffalo’s dynamic jazz community.

Each Jazz at Richardson event is made possible through the generosity of our partners—the Douglas Development Corporation, Richardson Hotel Buffalo, and the Richardson‑Olmsted Campus—who share our vision of revitalizing downtown Buffalo and uniting our community through free, high‑quality cultural events.
