About this Event
Jazz and Jokes returns to Forgotten Barrel Winery for another amazing evening of Music and Laughter. The beutiful rustic setting of the winery along with the special wines will delight you in every aspect.
Our music for the evening will be the dynamic duo "Double Stuff" - Rene Fernandez and Michael Kennedy, Sr. They bring decades of artistry to their powerhouse duo, Double Stuff. Rene’s path began in sixth grade with the trombone, leading to performances across the U.S. before he transitioned into television and film with roles on General Hospital, Santa Barbara, and multiple CBS Movies of the Week. Music ultimately pulled him back, first as a vocalist with the jazz ensemble Sounds Divine—where he trained under Alan Paul of The Manhattan Transfer—and later as a bandleader performing at top Southern California venues. His rich vocal tone, stage experience, and deep musicality shape the duo’s signature sound.
Michael Kennedy Sr., a San Diego native,
has spent over 35 years building a reputation as one of the region’s most
skilled bassists, vocalists, and musical directors. Self‑taught at 13 and
influenced by legends like Larry Graham and Stanley Clarke, he went on to
perform with Stevie Wonder, Thelma Houston, Parliament Funkadelic, and The Gap
Band, and toured with The Platters, The Bus Boys, and Otis Day and the Knights.
His dynamic bass work and seasoned showmanship anchor the group’s groove.
Together as Double
Stuff, Rene and Michael blend Soft Rock, Smooth R&B, Motown, Jazz,
Latin, and Old School favorites into a polished, high‑energy experience. Their
combined histories—spanning stage, screen, studio, and international
touring—create a duo defined by chemistry, versatility, and a deep love for
live performance.
Our host for the evening.....Ciera Royale.
Ciara Royale is a rising powerhouse in the comedy world, known for blending sharp observational wit with engaging storytelling. Originally from the Midwest, she eventually traded the St. Louis scene for the Los Angeles spotlight. She can be seen at the Improv, the Ice House, as well as The Stand Up Comedy Club in Bellflower. Ciara also produces an all ladies comedy show "The LOL Comedy Show" showcasing upcoming & established female comedians.
Leading off the comedy .....Vince Royale.
Vince Royale is a Filipino-American comedian, actor, and recording artist known for his high-energy performances and character-driven humor. Raised in New Jersey, he overcame homelessness before launching a career that spans stand-up, television, and music. He’s appeared on Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime, Showtime, and Kevin Hart’s LOL Network, and has toured internationally for over a decade. His viral sketches and alter egos—like the woke rapper “Cholo Loko” and spiritual guru “Yoga Vince”—blend satire with social commentary, earning him a cult following across platforms.
Wrapping up the comedy for the evening.... Patrick deGuire.
Patrick deGuire is a stand‑up comedian who began performing after losing much of his vision and finding humor to be personally healing. He went on to win the Improv/Harrah’s National Comedy Club Talent Search, leading to national TV appearances on Comedy Central, Comics Unleashed, and Que Locos, along with radio spots on The Bob & Tom Show and NPR. He has toured with major comedians including Tom Segura, Theo Von, Gabriel Iglesias, George Lopez, and Paul Rodriguez, and has performed for U.S. troops across more than a dozen countries. His comedy explores life with limited vision, the chaos and joy of raising eight children as a father and stepfather, and a wide range of sharp, insightful observations.
