About this Event
We’re so excited to see you at the Baltimore Book Festival, where you can visit us at our booth on Sept. 13-14. On Sunday, September 14th, we are thrilled to be hosting the 31st St. Stage!
At 2PM, join us to hear from Jason Mott, author of ! Mott's previous novel Hell of a Book, won the National Book Award for Fiction in 2021 and we couldn't be more excited to spotlight his brilliant new novel, which features two Black writers who are trying to find peace and belonging in a world that is riven with gun violence. One is on a global book tour after a big prize win; the other is set to give a speech at a school that has suffered a shooting. And as their two storylines merge, truths and antics abound in equal measure.
Andrew Limbong, host of NPR's Book of the Day podcast, will join Jason in conversation--perfectly timed as the Book of the Day podcast just featured People Like Us!
Jason Mott has published four novels. His first novel, The Returned, was a New York Times bestseller and was turned into a TV series that ran for two seasons. He has a BFA in Fiction and an MFA in Poetry, both from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. His poetry and fiction have appeared in various literary journals, and his most recent novel, Hell of a Book, was named the winner of the National Book Award for Fiction, 2021.
Andrew Limbong is a correspondent for NPR’s culture desk covering books and publishing. He’s also host of NPRs Book of the Day podcast, a daily show which collects the best author interviews from across the NPR newsroom.
