About this Event
About Jason McIntyre
Jason McIntyre is a singer-songwriter inspired by the music of the great rock and roll bands of the 60’s and 70’s, the famed Texas Troubadours, and the great blues legends.
Traversing landscapes with a sympathy and intrigue for the human complexities that face us all, McIntyre’s songs take listeners on a musical journey from his roots in the backroads of central Pennsylvania, to the mountains of Colorado, and to his current abode in Austin, TX.
McIntyre has released 4 albums, including The Rustlanders self-titled debut album in the early 2000’s, which led to touring opportunities with Ryan Bingham, Grace Potter and Justin Townes Earle.
Upon the band's sudden disbandment, McIntyre released the album Miles in 2014, with longtime collaborator, Junior Tutwiler.
McIntyre & Tutwiler’s next project LEMONT followed, with the two enlisting friends from around the country to collaborate on remote recording projects, Bloomsday (2017) and Songs of Our Friends (2020).
McIntyre continues to write and perform with friend and collaborator Michael O’Connor, whom he was introduced to upon moving to Colorado in 2015. The two have penned dozens of songs together and continue to perform on a yearly pilgrimage that finds them passing through their former adoptive home of Denver.
In addition to songwriting and performance, McIntyre continues to teach various instruments and songwriting for Swallow Hill Music in Denver, while also working with Challenge America as part of a music therapy songwriting program addressing and treating PTSD in military veterans.
