Dating back to the fourteenth century, Japanese Stab Binding is a simple yet strong thread-sewn technique that remains a common binding style today.
In this two-session workshop, you’ll learn the method and make your own hand-bound book to take home. You’ll choose from a selection of papers and colored threads to design a book that’s uniquely yours. You’ll learn how to prepare your pages, punch the holes, and sew a traditional binding pattern.
No experience is needed. You’ll leave with one finished, hand-sewn book, plus the skills to make more at home. It’s perfect for a journal, sketchbook, or small gift.
