In this hands-on workshop, you’ll discover Japanese gift-wrapping traditions and learn how presentation can be just as meaningful as the gift itself. You’ll be guided through simple yet elegant wrapping techniques, exploring beautiful folds, fabrics, and finishing touches inspired by Japanese aesthetics.
Japanese gift wrapping is rooted in ideas of care, respect, simplicity, and attention to detail. This workshop offers a chance to slow down, get creative, and experience the beauty of turning an ordinary gift into something truly special.
Throughout the evening, enjoy Japanese music, light snacks, and a welcoming atmosphere that brings together different elements of Japanese culture through the senses, creativity, and shared experiences.
No previous experience is needed. You’ll be guided step-by-step and encouraged to experiment with different styles while creating beautifully wrapped gifts you can proudly give to someone special.
Come solo, bring a friend, or make it a creative date night. Leave with new wrapping skills, beautiful creations, and a deeper appreciation for Japanese culture and the art of thoughtful giving.

Amber and Emily are the Japanese duo behind Soap Charmers, a creative business offering handcrafted products and hands-on workshops. Bringing their cultural heritage, creativity, and love for meaningful experiences, they'll guide you through the art of Japanese gift wrapping, sharing beautiful techniques and the traditions behind thoughtful gift giving.

Full refunds or credits are available for cancellations made at least 5 days prior to the event. If you need to cancel between 48 hours and 5 days, we’ll offer a credit toward a future Afrodesiac event. We cannot offer refunds or credits for cancellations made within 48 hours of the scheduled event.
