Mixed Mochi Menu For Sen's Saturday Teatime:

  • Sendai style zunda-mochi dango (skewered mochi w/edamame topping)
  • Shiratama mochi (silky rice flour dumpling w/fruit)
  • Summer gohei-mochi (grilled pounded rice cake w/sweet & salty walnut miso sauce)
  • Green tea

Cook's Bio:

Sen Sakamoto is a Nisei Japanese-Canadian museum designer, curator, and Japanese cooking enthusiast raised in Alberta and has been living in Vancouver for the past 20 years.

Emphasizing local and seasonal ingredients in her cooking, she has an Instagram account (KintokiSweets) where she creates seasonal Japanese wagashi confectioneries, sharing cooking methods and the rich cultural history behind them.
