About this Event
To kick off 2025 with a bang, Debbie Harbin is delivering our January's Practitioner Class on Somatics and Body-Oriented Coaching.
This session will focus on connecting with the self in a safe space, listening to and moving with and through our bodies. It may include some collective connection and will incorporate mindful movement.
The session will be tailored to those who attend. Therefore, bookings for this class close on Sunday 19 January for Debbie to collect info on those booked on.
About Debbie
Debbie Harbin is a choreographer, teacher and founder of The D Project Dance Company. She brings a wealth of passion, knowledge, excellent skills and drive to her work. The D Project inspires, nurtures, and supports people of all ages through dance. Debbie is also training to be a body-oriented coach focusing on helping people live more purposefully through somatic therapy. We are working on moving through and gaining an understanding of our thoughts and feelings.
About class
This class is open to dance practitioners of all abilities and experiences and is perfect for anyone who hasn't danced for a while. We want to create a supportive environment that allows anyone who has trained in dance many moons ago to come back and reignite their love for dance. Perhaps a dance teacher running their own dance school who wants to move for their own enjoyment.
Our programme for Dance Practitioners is subsidised, and therefore, participants must meet the following criteria to benefit from this provision.
Participants must:
Be over 18 years old.
No longer be studying within a formal education context.
Hold a completed qualification in creative arts at Level 5 (foundation degree) or Level 6 (undergraduate degree) or higher, or an equivalent e.g., Scottish Bachelor's Degree or international qualification. As well as artists working professionally with more informal training.
Be currently based in or from the North East (Tees Valley, County Durham, Northumberland and Tyne & Wear)
Please note that spaces for professional activities are limited and offered to those who meet the above criteria to ensure those who are pursuing a career in dance can access suitable training, support and professional development to meet their needs within the professional dance industry. TeesDance reserves the right to amend the qualifying criteria where appropriate.
