For this gathering, we will do something a little different. Instead of sitting in the cold and having a solo saunter, we will have a saunter together.
On a saunter, instead of moving to exercise, we walk among the wild to see what we might notice and to be present with the Earth. As we walk together, we will share conversation and perhaps song about the theme of wintering. We might pause for a reading or a reflection.
While we are often encouraged to plunge into the new calendar year with goals, resolutions, intentions, and even words of the year – we are still in winter in the Northern Hemisphere. The wisdom of Mother Earth still beckons us to rest, slow down, and dig deeper.
As we gather, or on your own, we might consider: What are the trees telling us about this time of year? What signs of stillness do we see or hear? What is the wildlife doing? The water? The air? The soil?
What signs of resilience do we see? What signs of waiting?
Come meet with us at the conference center at Greenway Farms, and from there, we will take to a trail together.
What to bring: wear good walking shoes, dress for the weather, a journal if you wish.
