Come celebrate our first exhibition of the new year with two new shows exploring 'Universes'. Sean O'Connell
electric ground
The exhibition electric ground tracks the movement of electricity through the materials and landscape of Tasmania's central plateau. Using high voltage spark imaging of local woods, rock samples, and tarn water, alongside simple electronic oscillator circuits built using those same materials, the internal realms of matter, and the larger rhythms and cycles of the environment, are expressed in image and sound.
Sean O'Connell is an artist exploring electrical energy and force moving deep within the solidity of matter. He uses alternative photographic techniques, electronic circuitry, noise, energetic structures and experimental processes to visualise and sonify these hidden internal spaces. His work is concerned with the realms of both matter and electricity, exploring the ways they each transform, modulate, and inform each other, specifically focussing on these relationships as they play out in the grand landscape of Tasmania's central plateau, where he lives.
Rodrigo López
The last 2 years
Rodrigo López, an Argentine illustrator, explores various techniques such as painting, drawing, and digital art to create a personal universe full of sensitivity and introspection. In this exhibition, he shares a selection of works created during the two years he lived in Australia, a period that began in 2023 and marked a new chapter in his life and art.
