Recognize how music affects the brain and nervous system.
Learn the science behind how rhythm, melody, and harmony influence regulation, emotional processing, and resilience — and why music can quickly shift stress into calm and connection.
Experience simple, evidence-informed ways to use music intentionally.
Through a brief guided exercise, participants will explore how sound supports grounding, focus, and emotional balance and leave with practical tools to integrate into personal or professional wellness practices.

Julia Petersen, MT-BC, is a Board-Certified Music Therapist, cellist, and vocalist who specializes in using evidence-based music interventions to support emotional regulation, resilience, and connection. With extensive experience in clinical, community, and wellness-based settings, she blends scientific understanding with the art of sound to help people access safety, coherence, and healing. Julia partners with individuals and professionals alike, serving as a trusted resource and referral partner for those integrating music’s power into the broader work of human wellbeing.
