Janis lived a kaleidoscope life: as a writer, artist, musician, art therapist, traveller, friend and extraordinary connector of people. So rather than a traditional memorial service, we’re creating the kind of gathering we think Janis herself would have enjoyed:
A coffeehouse afternoon of music, stories, readings, food, coffee, conversation and connection.
If you knew Janis, there’s a pretty good chance she introduced you to someone, something, somewhere...or some entirely new way of looking at the world. And now, in a way, she’s connecting all of us one more time.
Open 3:00–7:00 PM, with two moments when we’ll gather together for stories, music and remembering: the first around 3:30 and another around 5:30.
Come early. Come later. Stay for one part or both. Have something to eat. Listen to some music. Bring a story. Meet someone who knew a different Janis.
