A informal wander from East Finchley to Hampstead. Less scripted, less planned, more friendly, more spontaneous
About this Event

This year there are four Summer Strolls – North, South, East and West.

This series of longer yet cheaper walks are friendly gatherings that offer more scope for chats and questions along the way because, whilst Jane will be stopping here and there to share her knowledge and point out places of interest, these are not scripted/planned routes, but linear strolls from A to B that allow us to discover new and interesting things together, whether archictectural, historical or quirky.

The routes are all appox 4.5 miles long with a refreshment break mid-way*

This North London route starts near East Finchley tube station and takes a route through parks, playing fields and small forests, including parts of Highgate Wood and Hampstead Heath. We will stop at Kenwood House for lunch* before making our way to North End and the Vale of Heath and Hampstead's main junction where well finish our walk in one of the many public houses near the junction with the tube station.

*Lunch is not included in the ticket price. Our 1-hr lunch stop is planned to be at Kenwood House where there is a café and plenty of lovely outdoor seating, but you might prefer to bring a packed lunch with you. You can use this time to visit the house's marvellous interior (free). The group will reconvene at approx 2pm to continue the walk.

  • Meeting point – this will be supplied after purchase – please see the FAQs below.
  • You can leave the tour at any time.
  • Or you might wish to join us at lunchtime – please make this clear via email after ticket purchase – details of the mid-way meeting point will be supplied by return email
  • There is no reduction in price for a half tour

Customer feedback: "We love your tours Jane and really enjoy these longer walks" / "Jane, you have become my favourite guide – I will keep coming back for more!!" / "We always look forward to your Winter Twixtmas walks because you've taken us down roads we would never have thought to explore before – it's nice to be able to do that together and we can boast that we were there when Jane found something for the first time, ha ha!" / "...so engaging, thanks to your delivery style and obvious thirst for knowledge" / More feedback here

My guiding style is inclusive, open and friendly. I design and research every tour myself – in fact, the research never ends. The walks and talks I offer are all on subjects that intrigue me and each one highlights a different facet of my personality. I am particularly interested in the architecture of our ever-changing streets and the little details on and above them. For more information, please visit www.janeslondonwalks.com
