Monheit had been highly touted out of college, finishing runner-up in the prestigious “Thelonious Monk Vocal Jazz Competition” in 1998.

A vocalist with remarkable virtuosity and innate interpretative skills, Jane Monheit puts her own unique touch on jazz standards and any song she sings. Monheit has released 15 acclaimed albums over the course of her career.

Monheit was 22 when she released her debut album, ‘Never Never Land’, featuring Ron Carter, Kenny Barron & Lewis Nash. The album was awarded "Best Recording Debut" by the Jazz Journalist Association and stayed on the Billboard Jazz Chart for a year. ‘Come Dream with Me’ followed in 2001 with a #1 debut on the Billboard Jazz Chart.

Further highlighting Jane’s range and command as a vocalist-musician, ‘Live at the Rainbow Room’ (2003), documents a performance at the iconic New York club with a full band and Symphony Orchestra conducted by Alan Broadbent. Monheit received her first GRAMMY® Award Nomination from this album for the song "Since You've Asked".
