Jan Švankmajer's ALICE

Journey with us down the rabbit hole for a rare 16mm presentation of ALICE, a surreal and unsettling adaptation of the Lewis Carroll classic by maverick Czech stop-motion animator, Jan Švankmajer.
Through his signature style for the absurd and grotesque, Švankmajer crafts his own nightmarish vision for the tale amid a reliquary of decaying antiques and disheveled sentient taxidermy.
Preceding the feature are two ominous & claustrophobic short films, one an earlier work by Švankmajer, the other a mesmerizing abstract black & white animation
rendered in lithographic crayon by Amy Kravitz.
