About this Event
3rd Annual Jamie "Bull" Graham Training Days!!
Join us as we cotinue to honor Bull's legacy on the training grounds at Collin College Public Safety Center.
You can choose from 1 of 3 sessions.
Engine
- First Engine In (Capt. Andy Lane) - From rural volunteer departments to large urban agencies, our response models may differ, but the mission of the first-due engine remains constant. This class will focus on the deployment and management of 1 3/4" and 2 1/2" attack lines, positional responsibilities, hose load considerations, and strategies for overcoming short staffing. Emphasis will be placed not only on the "how," but also the "why," fostering critical thinking and developing confident, decision-making firefighters on the fireground.
- Wye, We Search (Capt. Jeff Luse) - Hands-on course designed to sharpen both mindset and movement on the fireground. In today's fast-paced, high-risk fire environment, it's critical to understand why we search before refining how we search. This class integrates live search evolutions with real-world research and data from FRS, UL, and NIST, helping bridge the gap between academy instruction and fireground reality. Through scenario-based drills, students will build disciplined, intentional search habits grounded in presence, purpose, and precision.
Truck
- Truck Ops
- Vent/Fire Dynamics
Rescue
- Saving Your Own (Michael Boatman) - The track focuses on the packaging and removal of a downed firefighter from a structure, followed by the delivery of basic life support (CPR) once the member is brought to a safe environment. Participants will also learn multiple techniques for rapidly exiting deteriorating conditions, including various firefighter bailout methods.
- Rope Rescue Challenge (Capt. Thomas Kosten) - The bay begins with a focused skills refresher to reinforce core rope rescue fundamentals. Participants will then apply those skills by moving patients up, down, and across the tower through a series of progressively challenging, scenario-based evolutions.
Spouse Track
Join us for a fun-filled day designed just for firefighter spouses! This interactive session track gives you a behind-the-scenes look at what your firefighter experiences. You’ll gain insight into the challenges and rewards of the job, and connect with other fire families along the way.
Through hands-on activities and open conversations, this track is all about building understanding, strengthening support systems, and having a great time while learning more about the career your spouse is passionate about.
