The acclaimed American composer James Horner is the focus of this yearโs film music concert. Nearly ten years after his tragic passing, Film Fest Gent pays tribute to the genius behind the scores of (among others) ๐ง๐ถ๐๐ฎ๐ป๐ถ๐ฐ (1997), ๐๐๐ฎ๐๐ฎ๐ฟ (2009), ๐๐ฝ๐ผ๐น๐น๐ผ ๐ญ๐ฏ (1995), ๐ ๐๐ฒ๐ฎ๐๐๐ถ๐ณ๐๐น ๐ ๐ถ๐ป๐ฑ (2001) and ๐๐ฒ๐ด๐ฒ๐ป๐ฑ๐ ๐ผ๐ณ ๐๐ต๐ฒ ๐๐ฎ๐น๐น (1994). James Horner composed for some of the biggest names in Hollywood such as Ron Howard, James Cameron and Martin Campbell. With two Academy Awards and countless other accolades to his name, Horner's impact on the world of cinema is immeasurable. Join us on 17 October 2024 at Muziekcentrum De Bijloke as we will pay tribute to this unforgettable composer. A selection of his work will be performed by the Brussels Philharmonic and conducted by Maestro Dirk Brossรฉ. Longtime colleague, friend of James Horner and WSA Discovery of the Year (2023) Simon Franglen, will assist in curating this selection and will be in attendance.

Film Fest Gent brengt op 17 oktober een eerbetoon aan de geprezen Amerikaanse componist James Horner tijdens het jaarlijkse filmmuziekconcert. Bijna tien jaar na zijn tragische overlijden brengt Film Fest Gent een hommage aan het genie achter de muziek van onder andere ๐ง๐ถ๐๐ฎ๐ป๐ถ๐ฐ (1997), ๐๐๐ฎ๐๐ฎ๐ฟ (2009), ๐๐ฝ๐ผ๐น๐น๐ผ ๐ญ๐ฏ (1995), ๐ ๐๐ฒ๐ฎ๐๐๐ถ๐ณ๐๐น ๐ ๐ถ๐ป๐ฑ (2001) en ๐๐ฒ๐ด๐ฒ๐ป๐ฑ๐ ๐ผ๐ณ ๐๐ต๐ฒ ๐๐ฎ๐น๐น (1994). James Horner componeerde voor enkele van de grootste namen in Hollywood, zoals Ron Howard, James Cameron en Martin Campbell. Met twee Academy Awards en talloze andere onderscheidingen op zijn naam is Horners invloed op de wereld van cinema onmeetbaar. Het concert vindt plaats op 17 oktober 2024, in Muziekcentrum De Bijloke. Een selectie van zijn werk zal worden uitgevoerd door het Brussels Philharmonic, onder leiding van Maestro Dirk Brossรฉ. Simon Franglen, oud-collega en vriend van James Horner, evenals de WSA Discovery of the Year (2023), is betrokken bij het samenstellen van deze selectie en zal zelf aanwezig zijn.
