Ryan O'Reilly, from Winchester, UK, is a songwriter whose Irish parentage & English upbringing combine to create a passionate storyteller. A meandering journey began with performing at open-mics in Toronto as a teenager, studying poetry in Dublin, and making a living street-performing on London’s Portobello Road. Ryan began gaining a reputation and fans from DIY band tours across Europe and North America, while also hard at work learning his trade, opening for the likes of Ashley McBryde, Matthew & The Atlas, and Lissie, and joining acts like Tift Merritt, Arkells, and Anaïs Mitchell on-stage to perform. In 2017, Ryan headlined a tour of medieval churches across Europe with Canadian trio The O'Pears and continued touring Europe with Jadea Kelly in 2018 and Hayley Reardon in 2019. The debut album The Northern Line was released on Qatar’s first indie label (DNA Records), with singles "The One", "November" and "Sometimes Things Just Happen" entering German airplay charts. The second album I Can't Stand The Sound was recorded in a cinema in Brooklyn, NY. Like its predecessor it was produced by David Granshaw in collaboration with Tyler Kyte, the album was released in January 2018 and warmly received by German and Spanish radio. A new album was recorded at Chale Abbey during lockdown on Los Angeles Production label Bicycle Path. Ryan also has co-writing credits on some popular 2021 releases including "Trying To Break Your Heart" by British band Flyte, "Still Alive" by Rosenheim's Amistat, "Girl In White" by Belarusian exiles Naviband, and "Losing From Within" by Boston's Hayley Reardon.
