Once again, we are proud to welcome back Jackson College's "Intro to Film" class. Every Monday for 13 weeks the public will be treated to some of the finest films ever made. The doors to the auditorium will open at 7 pm. The box office will be open at 6:30 pm. The cost is $5 per film. Present your Michigan Theatre Membership Card and receive a free medium popcorn and free medium soft drink.
ABOUT THE FILM: Dr. Frederic Treves (Anthony Hopkins) discovers Joseph (John) Merrick (John Hurt) in a sideshow. Born with a congenital disorder, Merrick uses his disfigurement to earn a living as the "Elephant Man." Treves brings Merrick into his home, discovering that his rough exterior hides a refined soul, and that Merrick can teach the stodgy British upper class of the time a lesson about dignity. Merrick becomes the toast of London and charms a caring actress (Anne Bancroft) before his death at 27.
