Join us at the Artery Gallery for new work from Jack Stone. When Jack first came to beautiful North Carolina in the late 1970's, he began painting landscapes. They featured Piedmont and mountain scenes, cows, farms, highlands. This continued till the late 80's, when he embarked on other subjects and styles, including abstracts, urban architecture, and expressionist.He has now returned to landscapes. The subject matter is the same, but his vision and approach have changed. It feels less literal, more ambiguous.
The rich traditions that characterize the land are laced with mystique and he is consciously embedding that strain in these current images.
