Our Student Choreography Showcase is a free event for the public created entirely by our pre-professional dancers. This program consists of dedicated dancers ages 9–17 who are interested in pursuing dance professionally in the future or simply want to challenge themselves and grow as artists.A major part of their journey each season is learning how to create and produce their own show from the ground up. Our dancers are responsible for developing the show theme, choreographing their pieces, selecting music, designing the program, organizing the lineup, and collaborating on the overall creative vision — all under the guidance and approval of our teaching staff.
This experience gives them a unique opportunity to explore the many creative and professional aspects of the dance industry while learning leadership, teamwork, and artistic responsibility. It also allows them to share their original works with the public and gain confidence as emerging artists.
This is only the second year of our Student Choreography Showcase. Last year, the performance took place in-studio, which was a wonderful starting point. However, providing these young artists with the opportunity to perform in a real theater on a professional stage would elevate the experience tremendously and give them a true glimpse into the professional performance world.
