J Plank

Internationally touring singer-songwriter and lap steel guitar virtuoso J. Plank (Jeff Plankenhorn) brings a powerful blend of blues, roots, folk, and rock to the stage.
Known for his soulful voice, extraordinary guitar work, and engaging live performances, Plankenhorn has spent decades captivating audiences across North America, Europe, and Japan.
A respected musician and collaborator, he has shared his talents with artists including Ruthie Foster and Ray Wylie Hubbard, appeared on major festival stages, and earned multiple Austin Music Award nominations. He even took home the award for Best Miscellaneous Instrument for "The Plank," an innovative hybrid lap steel guitar of his own design.
His 2025 release, The Bend, showcases a more intimate side of his artistry with a stripped-down acoustic sound recorded on the Texas coast. His work with The Southern Aces brings another dimension — high-energy roots rock recorded live in the Netherlands.
Whether delivering a tender ballad or digging deep into a blues-driven groove, J. Plank brings heart, soul, and exceptional musicianship to every performance.
