J-Film | One Cut of The Dead

Our next J-Film is the indie sensation One Cut of the Dead.

Shot in just eight days and on a modest budget, One Cut of the Dead was never expected to achieve massive success. Yet, after premiering on only two screens in Tokyo, the film quickly garnered international attention, leading to a wider release and critical acclaim. Ultimately, it became one of the highest-grossing films of 2018. The movie kicks off with an impressive 37-minute one-take sequence of what seems like a standard zombie film shoot—until things take an unexpected turn.

One Cut of the Dead is not just a zombie film but a story of indie filmmakers and the spirit and passion that goes into making independent films. Elizabeth Kerr of The Hollywood Reporter praising it as “a breezy and often laugh-out-loud hilarious zombie comedy.”

This event is free and open to the public, but registration is required for security purposes. Program begins at 6:30PM. Doors open 30 minutes prior. No admittance after 7:00 PM or once seating is full. Registered guests will be seated on a first come, first served basis. Please note that seating is limited and registration does not guarantee guests a seat.
