J-Film | A Long Goodbye

Presented by the Japan Information & Culture Center, Embassy of Japan , The Japan Commerce Association of Washington D.C. and The Japan Foundation

Our next J-Film is the family dramedy A Long Goodbye.
Shohei (YAMAZAKI Tsutomu) is a father diagnosed with dementia, whose unpredictable escapades bring both chaos and unexpected joy to his family. As his memory fades, his younger daughter Fumi (AOI Yu), older daughter Mari (TAKEUCHI Yuko), and wife Yoko (MATSUBARA Chieko) navigate the challenges and bittersweet moments of living with his condition. Amidst the confusion, they manage to capture a glimpse of the patriarch’s enduring spirit.
