J Candeed is the musical embodiment of the optimistic spirit. With an upbeat and evolving sound, he blends elements of the hill-country blues, traditional bluegrass and psychedelic groove using a mandola, kick and snare drum.Jake Potter gleaned ingredients from his stretches in journalism, romance, Southern living and Saturday night rambling, crafting them into songs about hard-luck nights on the town, ghost stories from murky backwaters, and the hardscrabble of life. Whether alone with an acoustic guitar and harmonica or backed by friends with assorted talents and electric instruments, his brand of three-chord storytelling pours heartbreak, hard work and humor together into a rocks glass. His debut EP, "Apparitions," was independently released in October 2022.
Sequoia is a folk songwriter newly living in Richmond, Virginia. Raised in rural Vermont, and spending years in Portland, Oregon and Los Angeles, California, his songs are Influenced by the diverse American landscape and a nomadic life. Melodic finger-style guitar playing and gentle vocals, as a medium for his lyrically inspired songs and story telling. His latest EP, “Bullfighter,” was released on American Standard Time Records in May 2022.
