Join Illinois Valley Community College on Wednesday, March 27 for an educational, cultural, and fun excursion to Wisconsin. Bring your basket or shopping bag, we will be filling them with items from each destination along our way today! Our first stop will be at Cream City Ribbon, where decorative ribbons are crafted with U.S. grown yarn, has a paper-like feel and is extraordinary when curled. Artisan made in Milwaukee on machines from the 1920’s, the original techniques are preserved to make this “unwoven" fabric ribbon that is like none other on the planet. We will learn how the ribbon is made and the sustainable initiatives Cream City Ribbon has in place. You will receive your first item for your basket. Then, we will stop at the Sherman Phoenix for a guided tour of this unique building that rose from the ashes into an entrepreneurial hub and marketplace. After the tour, you will have a gift card to purchase something for lunch and a little treat for your basket. Our next stop is a sweet one, as we stop at Ultimate Confections and receive a sweet treat for your basket. Next, we will take you to Cook’s Cake Decorating & Candy Supplies store in West Allis, Wisconsin. It is a baker’s dream. Of course, you will receive another item for your basket. Our final stop is at a candy store that has just about everything from Easter to Retro to Sugar Free candy at Half Nuts. You will receive your last item for your basket before we head home.
This program is coordinated by the IVCC Continuing Education Center. Includes: motorcoach transportation, tours and demonstrations, and lunch.

*Please note: there will be multiple stops throughout the day, we will be loading and unloading from the bus frequently upon arrival in Wisconsin. Please wear comfortable shoes. Please note due to the nature of this program, location substitutions may occur.
