Learn how to provide IUI in an out-of-clinic setting, and understand the nuances of supporting fertility care for LGBTQ+ & solo parents
About this Event

Do you want to learn how to provide IUIs and counsel queer folks & solo parents through their family building journeys? I hope you'll join me for this fun and interactive workshop where you'll learn and practice the IUI procedure and become proficient in counseling all different types of folks through the family building process.

I'm a queer midwife and parent of three, co-author of the book Baby Making for Everybody—Fertility and Family Building for LGBTQ+ and Solo Parents, and founder of PregnantTogether, the virtual community for queer folks and solo parents throughout TTC, pregnancy, postpartum, and parenting— and I believe strongly that community-based fertility care is a reproductive justice issue, and those of us growing our families outside of the heterosexual nuclear family model need skilled practitioners to support us during this time.

In this workshop, we will discuss the nuances of caring for the LGBTQ+ and solo parent communities, understand recommendations for timing inseminations in relation to the type of donor sperm being used, and offer hands on training for providing IUIs with previously washed sperm. Approved for 3.5 CEUs through ACNM.
