Carolyn Hutchinson, owner and designer of Carolyn’s In Stitches will be sharing a “Mini Trunk Show”, highlighting her series of patterns called “Magic Tricks” at the upcoming Boise Basin Quilters Guild meeting on June 20th from 7-9pHer designs are a combination of traditional and modern. Many of her designs came from asking “What if…?” This series of patterns is the perfect example. Attempting to simplify the piecing of a complicated design, Carolyn created a technique that rendered a totally unexpected block.
While Carolyn used lots of geometry and math in creating and writing these patterns, all the hard work has been done, leaving only very easy piecing that goes together quickly. Two of the patterns, “Hinged” and “Line Dancing” make two different quilts at the same time. It’s Magic!
