Its time to end animal testing @cardiff University
Schedule
Sat Sep 03 2022 at 12:00 pm to 03:00 pm
Location
Cardiff University, Park Place, CF10 3AT | Cardiff, WA
We will be raising awareness on animals in labs and especially for all those tested on for the covid vaccine. production and animal experimentation.
Our demonstrations will comprise of activists who will hold either a TV/screen showing our very own vivisection video, a picture placard. By showing footage together with placards, we aim to create a conversation with students and the public about where they draw the line for these sentient beings.
Combining multiple media resources will help broaden the outreach to the public in the hopes they will respond to one or more. We have all the resources needed! We will be providing footage, placards, leaflets.
Additionally these events are also fuelled by the ongoing plight of the MBR acres beagle puppies used for animal testing and research at predominantly labcorp. So we will also be in support of the ongoing protest camp beagle as a sideline to what is happening at cardiff University. All animal testing is relative, so even if Cardiff University are not using beagles (as to which they are currently not), they are using sentient beings for tests. But it is important to highlight camp beagle alongside this campaign.

It is important to mention that animals are also being used for warfare experiments, and are often the most violent towards the animals. Porton down specifically has tested on pigs, guinea pigs and ferrets for drugs but also weapons too. The question remains why when there are alternatives now to animal testing. see www.animalfreeresearchuk.org why does this continue...
So another reason to end animal testing.
WHY?
Millions of cats, dogs, monkeys, pigs, rabbits, mice, rats and other rodents are incarcerated and subjected to cruel experiments before being killed in studies that have no tangible benefit to human beings.
In 2017 almost 4 million procedures were carried out on animals in UK laboratories, with over being half on university campuses, and most falling under the "curiosity-driven" research category.
In 2018, scientists cited hundreds of biomedical studies from journals including Nature, Science, and the Journal of the American Medical Association to show animal modelling is ineffective, misleading to scientists, unable to prevent the development of dangerous drugs, and prone to prevent the development of useful drugs.
