It's Christmas 5km 2026

On almost the shortest day of the year, let's spread light, warmth and a little festive cheer! DO something amazing to support those feeling the pinch, at a time of year that everyone should be able to enjoy. Join us for the second edition of... It's Christmas 5k.

Whether you run, jog, or stroll, you’ll enjoy our picturesque 5K route and the unbeatable feeling of doing good while getting active. Hosted by DOrunning and SMD Active Together, this special event will give a donation from every entry to Tracey's Kitchen, helping people facing hunger, homelessness and hardship this Christmas.

That is not all – we’ll also be collecting food donations on the day to help stock up supplies for the Bestwood and Bulwell Food Bank. Together, we can turn a small community effort into a lot of hope.

You’ll be treated to the full festive experience: your own event t-shirt, an official finishing time, a goody bag and a mince pie to toast your triumph!

Taking to an easy to navigate signposted river route (with marshals), the race village will be set up inside the brilliant Big Shed at the Trent Navigation on Meadow Lane, just a few yards from the start and finish area.

On a what is likely to be a cold morning, they will kindly provide hot refreshments. As well as being a dry and warm place to congreagte, there'll be toilet facities and a secure bag drop.

All ages and abilities are welcome to take to take part in this feel good event, to kickstart Christmas in great spirit. As an added incentive, everyone who enters before the 28th April will be added into a draw to win a free place at the Robin Hood Half Marathon in 2026! We've also got some fantastic early bird offers, so make aure to take a look!

Families, groups, teams and walkers are encouraged to take part. For those that take it a it a little more seriously, prizes await the top three male and female finishers. So don’t wait – register now!
