Since 1983, the Tribal Water & Wastewater Utilities Workgroup Meetings have been a forum for Tribal water and wastewater utilities personnel to share ideas and concerns with peers, attend short training sessions, and contribute directly to the continuing development and planning of the certification, training, and technical assistance services provided by the Inter Tribal Council of Arizona, Inc. (ITCA). As professional Tribal water/wastewater utility and environmental staff, your feedback is vital to maintaining the quality and effectiveness of the National Tribal Water & Wastewater Operator Certification Program at ITCA. You are encouraged to participate in the roundtable sharing session and bring ideas or suggestions to the meeting. The ITCA Program is your program and all input and suggestions are welcomed. The Tribal Water Utilities Workgroup Meetings help ensure that these services are genuinely “by tribes and for tribes.”

During this meeting, subject-matter experts will provide short training seminars and guest speakers will present on topics applicable to Tribal utility programs. ITCA will provide updates pertaining to the Tribal Operator Certification Program and a roundtable discussion session where Tribal operators may discuss matters of interest. The meeting will finish with a ceremony for nominees and awardee of the 2024 Tribal Operator of the Year.

• Training contact hours will be earned by each participant
• Food will be provided
• A drawing of prizes will be held at the end of the meeting
• Free certification examinations through Paper-Booklet Testing for eligible applicants

Tribal personnel may attend the Tribal Water Utilities Workgroup Meeting, apply for operator certification, and take a certification exam for free.

• Training Seminar on Tuesday, September 10, 2024, from 1:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
• Training Seminars on Wednesday, September 11, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 and Thursday, September 12, 2024, from 8:00 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. (Breakfast and Lunch provided)
• Study Session with Trainers on Thursday, September 12 and Friday, September 13, 2024, from 3:45 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
• Morning Exam Sessions on Friday, September 15 and Saturday, September 14, 2024, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
• 2024 Tribal Operator of the Year Award Ceremony and Raffle Prize Drawing on Friday, September 13, 2024, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:45 p.m. (Breakfast and Lunch provided).
