An enjoyable and highly practical, two day course, which runs from 09:00 - 18:00 on both Saturday and Sunday, designed to meet the needs of Forest School Practitioners also working in the EYFS setting.This is a dual certificate course. Two certificates are awarded to successful attendees:
- ITC Forest School First Aid
- Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid (meets criteria designed by the Department for Education's EYFS framework)
No previous first aid experience is required to attend this course.
Places cost £216 (180+vat) which includes both certificates and a Paediatric First Aid manual.

Whilst the requirements for Forest School first aid can be met by completing an ITC Level 3 Award in Outdoor First Aid, many groups prefer or require specialist and tailored training involving infants for instance, with a tailored, contextualised approach to content often mixing elements of infant/child/adult training as determined by the group.
This 2 day ITC Forest School First Aid training course is designed to provide that flexibility.
The course content and context is totally integrated with the Forest School ethos and rationale. Over two days the course covers:
- A systematic approach to incident management - ABCDE
- Infant, Child & Adult Resuscitation procedures
- Safe use of an AED
- Choking - Infant, Child and Adult
- Bleeding - internal/external, major/minor
- Shock - hypovolemic and anaphylactic
- Hypothermia and hyperthermia
- Febrile convulsions
- Treating Damage - suspected fractures, head, neck and back injuries
- Eye injuries and foreign bodies in eyes, ears and noses
- Bites and stings
- Poisoning
- Burns and scalds
- Electric shock
- Common illness - epilepsy, asthma, sickle cell anaemia, diabetes
