This talk explores the remarkable contribution of Italian builders to Australia’s construction industry. From the post-war migration boom to today’s thriving sector, Italian craftsmanship has shaped iconic buildings and urban landscapes across the country. Through historical insights, case studies and personal stories, we will highlight the resilience, skills and entrepreneurial spirit that define Italian Australian builders. Special attention will be given to pioneers who have left a lasting mark on the industry, including both small and large companies that have played a crucial role in the industry. The evening will also feature the presentation of "Termini essenziali di cantiere," a series of six Italian-English technical dictionaries designed to support Italian professionals working in English speaking construction environments (1. Muratore/Bricklayer; 2. Pittore/Painter; 3. Piastrellista/Tiler; 4. Carpentiere-Falegname/Carpenter-Joiner; 5. Elettricista/Electrician; 6. Idraulico/Plumber). Join us, along with our guest speakers, to honor the past, inspire the future, and strengthen the bridge between two nations united by a passion for excellence in construction.
