Although it is an after-dinner treat, it is quite the “pick me up”, as its translation would state. The elegant Italian dessert is traditionally made with ladyfingers dipped in espresso, layered with a rich creamy mixture, and finished with a bountiful sprinkling of cocoa powder. Culinary legend has it that tiramisù was invented in Treviso, a small city in the romantic region of Veneto, in which Venetian lovers would tiramisu thinking it would give them more energy.
