Italian Baking Workshop - Pasta Frolla & Crostata

Discover the sweet side of Italian baking!

In this hands-on class, you’ll learn how to make pasta frolla—Italy’s tender, buttery shortcrust pastry—used as the base for many beloved desserts. With step-by-step guidance, you’ll prepare and shape the dough, then make your very own classic crostata (Italian tart).

We’ll cover tips for mixing, rolling, and handling the dough so you can recreate this timeless treat at home with confidence.

You’ll leave class with your own sweet and savory crostatas to take home and bake plus the know-how to make endless variations using jams, chocolate or savory fillings.

Perfect for home bakers, families, or anyone who loves authentic Italian sweets!

NOTE: Classes are held at IL LABORATORIO - our Italian Cooking School kitchen located at 3101 Guess Rd. (NOT at Melina's Fresh Pasta shop).

All participants receive a Class Recipe Book via email after the class with the recipes from the class.

Daniela is a 1st generation Italian American who moved to NC from Clearwater, Florida where she grew up in her family’s Italian market. That is where Daniela grew a love for baking, cooking and hospitality. She now owns her own businesses Ds Corner Kitchen, where she offers weekly meal prep services. She also owns Baked By D and loves keeping Italian traditions alive by offering classic Italian baked good. Having baked a long side her Italian mother for most of her life, she is excited to share everything she’s learned over the years with people who attend her Italian cookie classes.
