Join us for a community event in recognition of Black Maternal Health Week, focused on helping families understand how to build a strong birth team.In Oklahoma, Black women experience the highest maternal death rates in the state, about 71.6 deaths per 100,000 births, and babies born to Black mothers face an infant mortality rate about 1.7 times higher than the state average. These disparities highlight the importance of education, support, and coordinated care.
This event is designed for individuals who are thinking about pregnancy, currently expecting, or who have recently delivered, as well as partners and support people. Attendees will hear brief insights from professionals who support maternal and infant health and then participate in small breakout sessions to learn more about different roles within a birth team and ask questions.
Our goal is to provide families with information, resources, and connections that support healthier pregnancies, births, and postpartum experiences.
Breakfast will be provided for all attendees.
