Reflections on life, friendship, and media

Join us at GPAG with beloved Canadian radio and television broadcast personality Vicki Gabereau, in conversation with Joanna Piros, experienced radio and television journalist and communications consultant and trainer; emceed by Michael Gurney, arts and culture reporter for the Coast Reporter. Vicki and Joanna will be discussing a variety of topics related to their lives, friendship, and the media, prompted by questions from you!


A fundraiser for the Gibsons Public Art Gallery on Saturday July 18th. Doors open at 6:30pm, event runs 7pm - 9pm. Tickets are $75 and include a glass of sparkling wine and gourmet Christopher Norman Chocolates. All guests are invited to submit one question to Vicki and Joanna online when purchasing their ticket, for Vicki and Joanna to discuss during the event.


Vicki Gabereau is a Canadian radio and television broadcast personality, best known for her trademark wit and intellect on CBC Radio and her television talk show which aired on CTV from 1997 - 2005. Gabereau is a 3 time ACTRA award winner for best radio host and interviewer, and in 2005 she also received ACTRA’s lifetime achievement award in Canadian Broadcasting. She is widely regarded as one of Canada’s best interviewers and frequently offers her time and expertise to support culture and community.


Joanna Piros is a communications consultant and trainer, who has also worked as a reporter and on-air announcer in radio and as a reporter, producer and anchor in television news. Piros also teaches a variety of media and communications related courses at UBC, has worked as an actor in television and feature films, and serves on the Board of Directors for the Jack Webster Journalism Awards.


Michael Gurney is the Coast Reporter’s Arts and Culture correspondent for the lower Sunshine Coast. Gurney has served as a board member, president, or volunteer for a variety of arts & culture organizations and has played an integral role in advancing the Sunshine Coast’s arts & culture community.
