When words fail us, we reach for memes. Memes have become a language in their own right—a language in which humor eases the difficulty of emotional expression, connection, and introspection. In this series of evocative oil paintings, Adam Križovenský (@adamkrizovensky) reinterprets familiar memes by stripping away their text, leaving their raw emotional essence in focus. Bold brushstrokes and high contrast highlight this ironic aspect of memes: their playful nature enables them to capture deep feelings that are otherwise hard to define.
