Issues & Eggs: Intersection of Behavioral Health and Public Safety

St. David's Episcopal Church | Austin, TX

About this Event
Join the Downtown Austin Alliance for a continued conversation on mental health and public safety in our community. Since the launch of Travis County’s Mental Health Diversion Pilot, significant work has been underway to connect individuals in crisis to appropriate care rather than cycling them through the criminal justice system.
At this follow-up event, we will hear from local leaders and practitioners about the progress made since our initial discussion, including updates on the pilot’s impact, lessons learned, and next steps in the planning for a permanent Mental Health Diversion Center update. Speakers will also explore broader efforts to improve access to mental health resources in Austin and Travis County, and how these initiatives are shaping safer and healthier outcomes for our community.
This conversation is an opportunity to check in on the commitments made earlier this year, learn about early outcomes, and engage in what’s next for mental health solutions in Austin.
