About this Event

ISOKE. 2026. From my heart to yours.

In the third installment of Jordan Smiths annual Black History Month project he aims to tell the story of reinvention through the landscape of an editorial.

This year’s project reimagines the journey of Black women from the 1800s into the present day, exploring how echoes of the past continue to exist within modern world and present our subject with conflicting experiences of identity, beauty, and expression. This body of work aims to reflect the simultaneous nature of beauty & pain in our history. Each image captures a woman reclaiming her narrative — honoring where she has come from while embodying the strength, struggle, and grace, it took for our people to step into who we are today.

Experience the gallery with Jordan and each talented individual behind the project this Juneteenth. Isoke lives in all of our lineages, this is our chance to walk through it together.
