Islington Schools Dance Network - Developing dance in EYFS, KS1 and KS2

This CPD session is designed for teachers of Early Years, KS1 & KS2 who are new to teaching dance, want to use dance as a tool for learning, or want to build their knowledge, skills and understanding.

With Alex Stephanou, Head of Dance at AMSI, and Cheryl McChesney, freelance dance artist working with Sadlers Wells, you will be guided through the process of creating movement, tailored for your specific key stage, that has cross-curricular links with other subjects. A planning and resource pack will provide with ideas for warmups, ways to devise and structure a dance piece, and techniques that aid in developing motifs.

This is one of series of three CPD sessions leading to an opportunity for students from your schools and settings to participate in performances at the Islington Schools Summer Festival Dance Showcase.
