The Palace Theater is looking for incredible local talent to show off your skills as part of the second annual, family friendly, variety show competition “A Night of Island Stars.” Final contestants will perform as part of a full length variety show on Saturday, June 1st. The winner will be selected by a panel of 3 mystery judges, live on the night of the show and awarded the grand prize of $1,000. Produced in association with Mālama Arts, Island Stars will be a night to remember!
In person Audition Dates:
Thursday April 25th 5-7pm
Where: Hilo Palace Theater
Aerialist Auditions @ Aerial Arts Hawaii on Sunday April 28th @ 1-4pm
Please bring your own apparatus, if you need an apparatus provided, please reach out to [email protected] to arrange.
Artists and performers of all ages and varieties are welcome to audition: musicians, dancers, comedians, singers, aerialists, entertainers of all persuasions.
Acts will be auditioned in the order in which they arrive, ie: First come, first serve.
Please sign up for auditions by filling out the online registration form, CLICK HERE TO REGISTER -> https://forms.gle/hwN4cVSmocAswcVF9 . On the evening of auditions, check in with the registration desk upon arrival to sign in and secure an audition slot.
Acts should be no more than 5 min long. Solo and group performances will be considered. For audition please prepare just 1-3 minutes of your best material.
Due to the production logistics of this show, full piece bands will not be considered at this time.
Pre-recorded music & Backing tracks required. Come prepared with your own music tracks for playback. No acapella auditions.
All acts are to be Family Friendly.
The use of Fire and Water are strictly not allowed.
Can’t make the in person auditions? Video submissions will be considered. All video submissions should be email to [email protected], with the subject line “ISLAND STARS Audition [your name]”
Video submissions must be received by Thursday April 25th at the Latest. Video submissions received after this date will not be considered.

10-12 contestants will be selected to be a part of the show.
Notification of selection will be made by April 30th.
