Please note: Wearing a mask is recommended for those who are not fully vaccinated.
Celebrate the completion of the new, outdoor Native American lifeways exhibit and see all the recent improvements around the preserve! Tour the American Indian longhouse and exhibits that explore the lifeways of the Potawatomi during the 18th century. Visit the museum that interprets the Fur Trade Era of the 1700s, and stop by the Traders Cabin to take a step back in time. The new exhibit was made possible through a Public Museum Capital Grant from the Illinois Department of Natural Resources.
The fun will continue with a special Food Truck Friday at the beautiful new Island picnic shelter, overlooking the Des Plaines River. Here's the food truck lineup:
Rogue Farm to Curbside Kitchen
Grumpy Gaucho
Rose Street Eats and Catering
Nothing Bundt Cakes
Metal Monkey Brewing
Exhibits will be open for viewing from 4 to 7 p.m., and food trucks and Metal Monkey Brewing will be serving from 4 to 8 p.m.
Fee: Free!
Age: All ages.
No registration required.
