About this Event

The Annual International Islamic Heritage Festival & Parade at Penn’s Landing and Independence National Park is one of Philadelphia's major multi-ethnic festivals that take place each year in the city of Philadelphia. It is also the largest Islamic Festival in the country attracting 10,000 people.

Philly's Muslim community is bringing live entertainment and celebrations of cultural unity to the waterfront for the PECO Energy 30th Annual Islamic Heritage Festival & Parade. Produced by the Islamic Cultural Preservation & Information Council, the festival will host events Friday, June 9 and Saturday, June 10.

It all starts Friday June 9 at 1pm with Jummah prayer service (Muslim congregational prayer), at Independence National Historical Park under a big tent, with guest speaker Imam Rashad Abdul-Rahman from Atlanta Ga.

On Saturday June 10 at 1pm the 30th Annual Islamic Heritage Festival & Parade will begin with the Unity in Diversity Stop the Violence Community Parade at 5th and Market Streets with boys & girls scouts, drill teams, marching bands, schools and communities of faith winding through center city ending at Penn’s Landing at Columbus Blvd. & Chestnut St. Following the parade, the annual Islamic Heritage Festival commences, featuring family-friendly games, a youth pavilion with moon bounce games, face painting, a health & wellness fair, free giveaways, and entertainment by the international renown Universal African Dance & Drum Ensemble, R&B and Jazz Artist Jamaaladeen Tacuma, Hip-Hop Artists Yusha Assad, Philly’s own Moses the Comic and others including an International open market bazaar with a variety of vendors showcasing Islamic arts & culture, clothing, products and services for the whole family.
