On March 20th, a new dance experience arrives in Richmond.
ISIGQI (pronounced ee-SEEG-ee) is the isiZulu word for rhythm — the pulse that connects music, movement, and culture across the African diaspora.
This night is dedicated to the global sound of African electronic dance music.
From the birthplace of house music in Chicago…to the deep spiritual energy of Afro house…
to the infectious groove of Amapiano rising out of South Africa…
These sounds are all connected.
They are rooted in Black rhythm, shaped by the diaspora, and carried through dance floors around the world.
ISIGQI is a celebration of that lineage.
Expect a carefully curated musical journey through African electronic music and its global expressions — from deep and soulful house to percussive Afro rhythms and amapiano grooves designed to move the body and lift the spirit.
This is not a trend night.
This is not watered-down edits.
This is rhythm in its living form.
An intentional space for movement, connection, and energy on the dance floor.
