ISC Pittsburgh Grand Opening

The ISC has found a new home in Pittsburgh! Come celebrate with us as we officially open the doors of our headquarters and gallery in Lawrenceville.

The evening will coincide with the closing of the ISC Gallery’s inaugural exhibition, SOFT Launch. The artists of this exhibition will be on hand to discuss these fiber-based and soft sculpture works, exploring themes of comfort, memory, tactility, and resistance.

The event will also feature a special preview of Welcome Blanket, a community-led initiative founded by artist and activist Jayna Zweiman. Welcome Blanket transforms the traditional act of crafting a blanket into a poignant gesture of hospitality and inclusion for immigrants and refugees arriving in the United States, accompanied by personal notes and shared stories from the maker. Together, these contributions form a moving installation that subverts the idea of borders as barriers, instead weaving a powerful symbol of unity and welcome. Welcome Blanket will be on display in the ISC Gallery from November 2025 through March 2026.
